Do you remember your first WOD? What did you think on that first day?

I do!  It was Angie.  When I saw the WOD board – I was thinking to myself, what in the world did I get myself into.  But when I finished – I felt like a rock star and I didn’t die!  So that was a plus!

What kind of results have you experienced since starting CrossFit?

I am much stronger than I was in June when I started.  I love that I can throw a 60# bag of water softener salt over my shoulder like nothing and carry it in the house!  I am losing inches and noticing muscle definition in my shoulders, back, legs, and arms.  I now love to work out and actually make excuses to get to the gym vs making excuses to skip it!

What has been your biggest accomplishment since starting at CrossFit Confidence?

I am up to 5 double-unders in a row and can do box jumps!  I know, not a big deal for most… but for this girl it is!  I was terrified to do box jumps at first!

What has CrossFit changed about your life?

I need my CrossFit workouts in the morning to clear my head and start my day off on the right foot.  It helps to take the stress out of my life!  I can definitely tell when I miss a work out!  I have way more energy than I did prior to starting too! I am quite certain it’s turning into an addition.

What is one goal that you are currently working on?

Figuring out the Snatch and mastering full plank push-ups.

What motivates you/keeps you coming back?

The people for sure!  And wanting to continually try to beat my last PR!  I remember the first time I PR’d on my dead lift.  Everyone stopped what they were doing and cheered me on.  It was such an amazing feeling!

What is your favorite benchmark WOD?

My favorite so far is “Annie.”   (probably because it was right after this workout I figured out how to do a double under!)

Least favorite?

Do you have a favorite song to work out to?

Not really!  If it’s a strength work out – something heavy.  Conditioning – some type of dance music.  Or 90’s boyband stuff is always a win too!

What would you say to someone who is new or considering starting CrossFit?

Do it!  It’s been the best decision I’ve made and the best thing I’ve done for myself!

What are some of your interests outside of CrossFit?

I’m married and have 1 daughter who is a competitive swimmer.  I spend lots of time pool side cheering her on!  We try to spend just about every weekend April – November camping.  I love to shoot trap and bird hunt in the fall with my husband and our Drathaar named Ada.

What do you do for a living?

Professional babysitter / mediator…. Totally kidding.  I am a rehab supervisor for Allina Home Care.  I manage 35 occupational, speech, and physical therapists in our home care program.  But some days I do feel like a professional babysitter!

What cereal cartoon character do you identify with the most? Why?

I’d probably have to say Tony the Tiger.  Everything in my world is  GGRREEAATT!  I know that life isn’t always unicorns and rainbows, but I always try to find the hidden blessings in any situation.
