I started CrossFit in February- prior to that I had worked out in the past but at the time was not very active. I was checking out other gyms and had heard the buzz about CrossFit being a ‘community’ or ‘family’ type atmosphere. I am not big on regular gyms due to the fact that unless you have someone to work out with all the time that will support you, help you with your goals, and motivate you, they can be lonely and I tend to lose motivation in that type of place.
The first time I walked into CrossFit Confidence, Matt was there with a smile on his face and very welcoming- I had many conversations with Matt prior to me walking into the box (gym) – he is educated, and dedicated to helping you reach any goal. After my first workout another CrossFitter walked in the gym- right away she introduced herself, asked how my first workout went and was very welcoming. I left that first day with a great workout- a great coach and on the road to being myself again. Soon after that, I met the rest of the CrossFit family- I have made friends and created bonds with them that will last forever. Nobody cares what you look like when you’re working out; they are motivational, caring and supportive!
When I started, I was overweight, could hardly run 400m without stopping and insecure about myself. I am gaining my confidence back, feeling better about myself and really starting to enjoy life again! Matt and the family at CrossFit Confidence have filled that void- I have been able to achieve goals I never thought I could do and now plan my week around my CrossFit schedule! Even with being with CrossFit for only a few months, I am seeing results, eating cleaner, becoming educated on the workouts and look forward to the days I will be at the box!
It takes a special type of person to run a CrossFit gym the way Matt does- his main goal is to help you achieve your goals and help make you become the person you want to be. Matt won’t let you do something or lift a heavy amount of weight until you have the form down and are able to do it- he wants you to succeed – not fail. I have been very blessed to have found a coach and gym like CrossFit Confidence and am excited to continue on this journey of getting my old body back with Matt and my other family!

Hands down, best gym I’ve ever joined! CrossFit is my most favorite way to work out! I was a little skeptical about a WOD (workout of the day) being only 7-25 minutes long but I have gained so much strength and noticed results within just two months going 2x a week. I’ve never been able to do bodyweight pull-ups and now I can. It can be very intimidating to start something new but Matt is a great coach and everyone is very welcoming and supportive. I absolutely love everything about CrossFit and have only good things to say! 🙂

I have been going to Crossfit Confidence for 7 months now. There is nothing else like it. I’ve tried the Y, P90X, insanity, and other home workout videos. All are great. However, I didn’t have my own personal trainer that knew me or my body for what I could do. Countless thoughts of “I’ll start on monday” or laying in bed thinking, should I work out? I’ve come to a realization that I need to be accountable. Just me clicking to sign up for classes put it in my head that someone is expecting me. That alone keeps me going every Tue and Thur morning for the last 7months! I’m happily married and have 3 kids, which means yes, I too have a busy schedule. Im able to do things now that I couldn’t even imagine physically and mentally. I hope this helps some of you that are on the fence about this. Give it a shot. Who knows, you might like! I have been doing crossfit with these weirdos for over a year now. I typically get bored with the anytime fitness types…mainly because I don’t know what the heck to do on my own so I just end up on the treadmill going, why am I paying to run?!! Crossfit has been a great all around workout and has pushed me to try things I NEVER saw myself having the opportunity to do before! Not only is the workout great, but the community is unlike anything you can find in conventional gyms. We call ourselves a big dysfunctional family but truth is we all have each other’s back in and out of the box! It’s a judgement free zone with tons of encouragement and support! I love this crazy train and can’t wait to welcome more aboard.
I love that Everyone is welcomed and Everyone is treated equally- Regardless of your fitness level we are all in this together. The friendships made are awesome. It is so much more than a gym… If you are worried that you can’t keep up or are intimidated … Don’t … We all had to start somewhere …but I am proof that if you commit and listen to your coach – you will meet your health and fitness goals. I never thought I would be strong enough to do some of things I can do today. My self esteem is great and I feel like I have a whole community CFC behind me! I have tried out many gyms and none of them were as focused on helping me personally improve like CrossFit Confidence! The people there are like a close family and so inviting to new members, I felt like I was right at home. Matt takes the time to make sure everyone is safe and that the workouts are on your level, but difficult enough to keep pushing me to my max! Best gym I have been a member of in years.
